There are certain things best seen by adults only when in the company of children. These things include elephants, sparklers, and the movie “Fantastic Four.”

If we remember correctly, the Fantastic Four are The Human Torch, The Thing, an elastic rubbery guy, and a girl who can become invisible.

These four get their super-human “powers” when they pass through an asteroidian sh*^%tstorm in outer space.

They spend the rest of the movie trying to get back to where they once belonged. Before they can achieve this, however, they decide to work for the good of mankind instead.

There’s a maudlin love story between the rubbery guy and the invisible girl.

There’s also a scene where The Thing is a Huge Hero on a suspension bridge. He is then rewarded by having his wife leave her wedding ring there in front of him on the bridge pavement. (Al cried when it happened.)

Later, a blind girl falls in love with The Thing, and so things wrok out well for him. (Al snickered when *that* happened.)

There’s also a man who turns into the villainous Doctor Doom and we doughnut know eXactly why. We *do* know, however, that this is a comic book on film. It’s not a *good* comic book film (like the Fabulous “Spiderman, “ (for example!) yet grab your children, sit down on the popcorn couch, and Flame On!!! (1 hour 46.)
