PATSY’s REVIEW: Nine

I would give “Nine” a 15. It was disappointing overall, as I was expecting better from the same director who did “Chicago” — Rob Marshall — which I loved.
However, “Nine” was an entertaining set of musical sequences and some of the performances were worthwhile seeing. If you like any of the cast members, it’s worthwhile seeing and you’ll enjoy it. But don’t go expecting much more than that….near the end, I was falling asleep.
Daniel Day-Lewis was hot, hot, hot….I loved just looking at him and he, as usual, created a character that he was able to play convincingly throughout. He played Guido, a man that never surpassed the emotional maturity of a 9-year-old. He spends his adult life expecting the same unconditional love from all women that he received from his mother. (Isn’t this what all men do?)
Anyhow….Fergie also did a super job. She is a great singer with a very strong voice, but I’m not sure about her acting as she really only sang one number…but it was dynamite.
