Ryan Gosling first came to this writer’s attention in “Half Nelson.” In “Half Nelson” an inner-city junior high school teacher with a drug habit forms an unlikely friendship with one of his students after she discovers his secret.[1.]

Since “Half Nelson,” Gosling has gone through a remarkable period as an actor. This writer loved him again in the wonderful “Lars and the Real Girl.” Both these films should be in your Netflix Queue.

Gosling was the subject of a recent exchange of e-mails between this writer and a fellow member of our “A.J. Malouin’s Movies @ Gayle’s Chocolates” film discussion group.
