MOVIE REVIEW: Inception

[Yours Truly has not seen “Inception” yet. The Oklahoma Movie Alliance — one of our sister groups at “A.J.Malouin’s Movies @ Gayle’s Chocolates” — supplies this joint review by Annie, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Steven, of Houston Texas. For those of us not familiar with a Mobius strip, there’s a beginning description of it at
The “50 Films” lists of both Annie and Steven are listed under our side-bar section “The 50 Films Club—Films People Would Gladly Watch Again.” —Ed.]

Steven and I saw “Inception,” and both of us thought it was good. Pretty good entertainment. Better than most as far as sci-fi goes. At-times a dizzying Mobius strip of a sci-fi thriller, it’s both a tremendously challenging and tremendously rewarding movie, the type that will have audiences talking — and debating — long after the credits roll. You have to pay attention; this is not childish sci-fi, and only for fans of the genre who like to have their minds work on the scientific end. We would rate it 85% out of 100%. Not something for anyone who does not like sci-fi. It deals with thought control. I enjoyed it because it seems like something that could really happen. No child robot or stupid stuff here; this is not the heart-warming E.T. sort of thing and does not compare to most of the sci-fi children’s
thinking stuff out today. This requires a great deal of thought, and is only
for the diehard fan.

If you like Scientific American, and it holds your interest reading about things of the future, you’ll love this. If you are one of these rare individuals, be prepared for one of those “rides” of a lifetime.
