RENTAL REMINDER: Burden of Dreams

In November, 2008, we attended a screening of “Burden of Dreams” hosted by its director, Les Blank.

“Burden of Dreams” tells the story of the making of the incredible film, “Fitzcarraldo.”

Werner Herzog spent six years in the Amazon jungle making “Fitzcarraldo,” a film about a man who drags a steamship over a mountain. He faced headhunters, a civil war, and lead actors who had to left the project in mid-stream. (Pun intended!)

Les Blank turned Herzog’s ordeal into a riveting documentary. Read our review, originally published in 2008, under our side-bar page “ and then rental “Burden of Dreams.”
