“The Twilight Saga: New Moon.” My daughter liked it a lot, and I can see why…this movie is designed for pre-teens and teenagers or adults with teenager mentalities.

I, on the other hand, found it boring and endless.

First of all, I don’t like the whole evil thing they have going on and would frown upon encouraging my kids to dabble in a fantasy world full of vampires and such. Is this a good message….jump off a cliff so you can be with your fella?

Second, the acting was….wait…there was no acting.

Kristen Stewart is awful, except for the pouty, concerned look on her face that she was able to duplicate over and over again in every scene. I honestly can’t think of a moment where she actually smiled and looked pretty, or seemed the least bit happy.

Robert Pattinson is just plain creepy and far from the typical type of Hollywood love interest. He is not handsome or muscular (he should keep his shirt on…skinny with random chest hairs is just not a good look), and his face is covered with pasty white makeup (ick) that miraculously increases and decreases throughout the entire movie (a good way to tell which scenes were shot on what day, I guess).

Taylor Lautner is more appealing, but again, not what I would consider handsome and he seems to have an acne problem that could have used the pasty white makeup.

And the story? It’s dumb, depressing, and dark. I guess if evil and unhappiness are your thing, you might like it. But in my opinion, this movie sucked big-time and I would never pay to see another one in the series.

(2 hr 10. MPAA Rating PG-13, for some violence and action. Dialogue in English.
